Raksha Bandhan 2024 Muhurat: Festival’s Significance, Auspicious Time To Tie Rakhi; Here’s All You Need To Know About The Occasion
Celebrated on the full moon day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Shravan, Raksha Bandhan is one of the most awaited festivals of the year. During the auspicious occasion, sisters tie a Raksha Sutra on their brother’s wrists. They wish for his happy and fulfilled future. In turn the brothers vow to protect their sisters throughout their lives. As the festival will be celebrated on August 19, 2024, a few days later, let’s take a look at the auspicious festival’s significance and the Shubh Muhurat to tie the rakhi.

As reported by Live Hindustan, who quoted astrologer Vibhor Indoodusut, after the end of Bhadra, the auspicious Chaughadiya Muhurta of Char Labh and Amrit will be presented from 1:30 pm to 7 pm, which will be the best timing for the sisters to tie their brothers the Rakhi. It is one of the reasons why Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on Monday, August 19 this year. Reportedly, Bhadra Kaal will start from 3:04 am and will be present until 1:29 pm. It is not an appropriate time to celebrate Raksha Bandhan during the Bhadra Kaal. So, on the day of Raksha Bandhan, after the Bhadra Kaal ends, sisters are urged to tie Rakhi to their brothers and celebrate the auspicious occasion only after 1:29 pm.

The report adds that on August 19, the Moon will be in Capricorn and Bhadra will reside in the netherworld, and not on Earth. According to the beliefs of the scriptures, it is not the right time to tie a rakhi in the presence of Bhadra. Therefore, the auspicious time to tie the Rakhi will be between 1:30 pm to 7:00 pm on August 19, 2024.
